The absolute best diet out there is the one that you can adhere to indefinitely!  Diet is the most fundamental component of transforming your body.  As such, it is essential that you love your diet!

In my view, diet accounts for 70% of the success one can have along their transformation journey.
 
Fad diets along with those that are too restrictive of food choices lead to ugly rebounds and the frustrating effects of yo-yo dieting.

The last thing you want to do is rapidly gain back all the body fat you’ve lost after working long and hard to get rid of it.

Having said that, if you are sold on the Low-Carb, Keto, Vegetarian, Plant-Based, Paleo, or any other diets – and you truly enjoy what’s on the menu, then yes, we can work with any of these plans.

More often than not, the simple element that requires the restriction is calories - not specific foods. 

Finding an appropriate ratio of macronutrients i.e. Carbs, Protein and Fats are also an important facet of balancing one’s diet.

  

Choices, Substitutions, Variety...


During the initial setup consultations, we will determine your food preferences. Based on your goals, together we will formulate a diet to meet your objectives.

If need be I will suggest substitutions or modifications to one or more of your food choices. 

Depending on your preferences, your diet may be very similar from day to day, or it may include a rotating variety of selections.
    



Meal Planning & Flexible Dieting


There are two basic lines of thought when it comes to dieting.  One is meal planning, which consists of preparing your primary meals in advance.

Meal planning is very effective because it takes all of the guesswork out of having to decide what to eat and how that meal fits into your daily calorie budget.

Flexible dieting is great but it does require a bit more work.  Deciding what to eat on the fly requires you to first calculate the calories in the given meal or snack considered for consumption.

Once you ascertain how that flexible choice affects your total calorie budget for the day, you would then be able to determine if you can afford to go ahead and have that meal or snack.


My personal preference and suggestion for clients are to employ a combination of both!



Since I’m one of those people who doesn’t mind eating the same breakfast and lunch almost every day it’s easy for me to set up my menu with a few daily variables from which to choose.

As for dinners, I have my steady choice of favorites, which are also on my menu for variable selection.  I typically set up my day first thing in the morning so I don’t have to do any thinking or calculating on the fly.

If I change my mind, substitute, or add something, I’ll go back and record the changes in my tracking software.  If I know I’m going out for a special dinner or meal, I’ll do my best to try to account for such in advance.

Ordering in, and eating out at restaurants frequently is not advisable for a host of reasons.  With that said, we can still put together an effective diet plan for those who do eat out regularly.

As you might guess, tracking and reporting on daily caloric intake is an essential component of the transformation process, especially during the first year.

All of my clients will have FREE access to an upgraded Gold suite of online tracking software.   My clients will be able to use the program on both their desktops and mobile Apps. 

I will have access to viewing, helping manage, and assist in setting up your tracking account.
 

The tracking App is the most important tool we’ll be using to achieve our common goals!



Down the road, after you have achieved your objectives, transitioning from daily tracking to coasting on autopilot will be much easier.

At that point, you will be quite familiar with your favorite food choices, portion sizes, and the daily caloric impact those choices will have on maintaining your condition.
